Royal Liver’s Wellbeing Programme brings together a number of initiatives that allow staff to build a personalised package to suit their individual needs.

Nicola Foster from Royal Liver’s Human Resources Department said: “In the twenty first century we face a number of challenges both in and out of work. Our aim is to help Royal Liver’s staff to understand those challenges and to adapt their lifestyles in order to meet them.

This includes helping our people to realise the importance of striking a good work/life balance and how to prevent unhelpful work related stress so they can rise to their individual challenges and enjoy life both at Royal Liver and outside of the work environment.”

The Wellbeing Programme launched during Royal Liver’s own Wellbeing Week, which ran from January 21 to 25. The programme takes an holistic approach to the health and welfare of staff, with a range of initiatives and policies, split into groups that include: Physical, Values, Personal Development and Emotional. Each has been designed in conjunction with staff to cover the full spectrum of wellbeing needs.

“We hope this approach will allow our people to tackle the challenges that are associated with a modern lifestyle,” explained Nicola. “It represents a broad agenda that includes physical, mental and social health; we want to give employees the techniques and opportunities to review their health so they can get the most from and enjoy their lives both at Royal Liver and at home.”

Some of the initiatives within Royal Liver’s Wellbeing Programme include: Coaching and mentoring, lifelong learning, personalised training and development, free fruit and healthy food, smoking cessation services, counselling, financial health-checks, volunteering, reflexology and Reiki.
