In July 2004, Paul Myners*, at the request of the Financial Services Authority, issued a Consultation Document into the Governance of Life Mutuals. This was followed by his Final Report, in December '04. The Report detailed the following areas which we view are important to Royal Liver:
- Corporate Governance
- Involving members
- Mutuality
- AGM and Voting
- The Role of the Non-Executive
- The Role of the Board
- The Role of the FSA
- Closed Funds
Royal Liver is in the process of reviewing these issues to ensure all areas are compliant with Paul Myners' recommendations.
If you wish to read the Report, for further details on the above issues, please click here.
* Paul Myners is a highly respected business leader. At the time of the enquiry Mr Myners held a number of chairmanships and directorships at companies including the Guardian Media Group and Marks & Spencer.
