Friendly Society, Royal Liver Assurance Limited has strengthened its Board with the appointment of new Non-Executive Director, Harry Lorton.

In his new role, Harry will work closely with the current Chairman, David Woods and the Society’s three other Non-Executive Directors.

Harry, based in Dublin but originally from Cork, has worked in the financial services industry in Ireland for most of his career, and for 12 years was Chief Executive of TSB Bank and of permanent tsb. A graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and a Chartered Certified Accountant, he is a Fellow and Past President of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and is a member of the Council of the Irish Management Institute. He is also a Non-Executive Director of a number of private Irish companies involved in software, visual communications and property development.

Commenting on the new appointment, Royal Liver Chairman, David Woods said, "Harry’s experience will be a hugely valuable addition to Royal Liver’s Non-Executive team. His expertise in the world of financial services will serve only to enhance the future success of the Society."
