Ray was co-opted as a Non-Executive Director of Royal Liver in October 2001, having formerly been the Senior Partner of the Liverpool office of PricewaterhouseCoopers. In
respect of his Royal Liver appointments, he is Chairman of the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee and a member of the Investment Strategy Group and the Nominations
Committee. He was Chairman of Royal Liver Asset Managers Ltd. until 31 December 2006.

Ray was appointed as the Senior Independent Director on 15 December 2005.
